Overview

Implementing credit control policies: The Credit Control Manager is responsible for setting and implementing credit control policies and procedures to minimize debt and bad debt.
Managing debt: This involves actively working to reduce the company’s debt and bad debt and ensuring that outstanding payments are collected in a timely manner.
Liaising with other departments: The Credit Control Manager will often need to work closely with other departments, such as sales and customer service, to resolve any issues that may be preventing payments from being made.
Reporting: This role often involves preparing and presenting reports on the company’s debt situation to senior management.
Maintaining relationships: The Credit Control Manager is responsible for maintaining good relationships with customers, while also ensuring that they pay their invoices on time.
Risk assessment: This involves assessing the credit risk of new and existing customers and making decisions about whether to extend credit to them.

Qualification
- 5-10 years of experience in credit control or a related field is often required.
- Bachelor’s Degree: A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field is required.
- Professional Certifications: Must be a chartered accountant.
- In addition to these formal qualifications, relevant work experience in credit control, accounts receivable, or a similar role is required. Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills are also crucial for this role.

- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively negotiate with customers and liaise with other departments.

- Attention to Detail: The ability to accurately process and manage large amounts of financial data, and to identify and correct any errors or discrepancies.
