Nigerian music sensation Davido has found himself embroiled in controversy once again, this time over allegations of unpaid royalties from an upcoming music producer named Napji.
In a bold move, Napji took to social media to call out Davido, claiming that he was behind the production of several hit songs on Davido’s album “A Better Time,” released in November 2020.
According to Napji, he produced the tracks “Fem,” “Jowo,” and “Sunlight” for Davido’s album, for which he received an advance payment of N500,000 for each song. However, Napji alleges that he has yet to receive his rightful royalties and publishing fees for his work on the album.
In a statement posted on his Instagram page, Napji vowed to pursue the collection of his royalties and publishing rights, promising to release more information on the matter. He called on the public to tag Davido, signaling his intention to bring attention to the issue and seek resolution.
In response to Napji’s allegations, Davido issued a terse reply, simply stating, “Your papa,” on both his Instagram comment section and Twitter page. The curt response from Davido sparked a flurry of reactions from fans and followers, igniting a social media storm around the controversy.
