Davido lost his mother when he was only 10 years old, and later lost his best friend and bodyguard in the span of two years. In 2022, his son Ifeanyi drowned in a swimming pool. The artist, who released his latest album on March 31, referred to them as legends.
I don’t think the song is really being sad. I just feel like since I have lost all of them, I don’t want to really feel like they have left me spiritually. I still have them around me a kind of. They were all legends. So that’s why I say that a legend never dies,” he said.
He added that the song is dedicated to everyone who has lost someone close to them. The heartfelt interview gives fans a glimpse into the artist’s personal life and showcases the emotional depth of his music.
