Through his Instagram story, Davido debunked the allegations, asserting that he had never been arrested, neither in Nigeria nor anywhere else in the world. He expressed his dismay at the fabrication of such serious allegations, emphasizing the irresponsibility of spreading false information, even if it occurred on April Fool’s Day. Davido further announced that his lawyer was pursuing legal action against the media outlets responsible for disseminating the misinformation.
In his statement, Davido thanked his fans for their unwavering support and assured them that he had completed his scheduled shows in Uganda and Kenya before returning home to Nigeria. He reiterated that he had never faced arrest in any country, emphasizing the seriousness of the false reports.
