Davido speaks on relationship with Israel DMW as the Nigerian music star opened up about the strong bond he shares with his longtime aide, revealing that their connection goes far beyond work.
During a livestream with skitmaker Carter Efe, Davido reflected on his friendship with Israel DMW while reacting to Carter’s relationship with his associate, Kolu. According to Davido, despite the jokes and online mockery that trail them, Israel remains one of the few people he trusts deeply and can lean on emotionally.
Davido explained that Israel is not just an aide but one of his closest friends and someone he feels comfortable opening up to during difficult moments. Over the years, their relationship has grown from a simple employer-employee arrangement into a solid friendship built on loyalty and shared experiences.
Like many long-term relationships, theirs has had its rough moments. In August, rumours of a fallout surfaced after Davido unfollowed Israel on Instagram. However, Israel quickly shut down the speculation by sharing photos from Canada during Davido’s tour, celebrating the singer’s upcoming wedding to Chioma and hinting that all was well. Davido later reinforced this by gifting Israel a Rolex watch.
Earlier reports had claimed that Israel was temporarily barred from joining Davido’s Five Alive tour due to behavioural issues that allegedly caused distractions. Still, the two appeared to have resolved their differences, continuing to work and travel together.
Israel has consistently expressed gratitude to Davido for changing his life. From private jet trips to securing visas to the UK, US, France, and Canada, he has repeatedly credited the singer for opening doors he once only dreamed of. In 2022, Israel even revealed that Davido played a key role in helping him obtain a two-year UK visa, pledging lifelong loyalty in return.
Beyond his bond with Israel, Davido also showed his romantic side during the same livestream. He surprised viewers by calling his wife, Chioma, on FaceTime and singing his hit song Assurance for her. The moment drew cheers from Carter Efe and others present, leaving Chioma blushing and laughing.
The couple recently celebrated their third wedding anniversary and had earlier held their white wedding in Miami, attended by prominent figures from business, politics, and entertainment. During their vows, both Davido and Chioma spoke about love, friendship, and choosing each other through every season.
Meanwhile, Israel DMW recently trended online after a video from Davido’s concert showed him briefly missing his way while following the singer backstage. The clip sparked mixed reactions online, with some mocking him and others defending him.
Despite the noise, Davido’s recent comments make it clear that his bond with Israel remains intact, rooted in trust, loyalty, and years of shared history.
