Kevin De Bruyne has become the fastest player to reach 100 Premier League assists, achieving the feat during Manchester City’s recent game.

The Belgian’s 45th minute cross for Erling Haaland’s opener in the 4-1 victory over Southampton saw him reach triple figures in just 237 games.

That is 56 games faster than previous quickest Cesc Fabregas, who took 293 games to register 100 assists.

De Bruyne becomes the  fifth player in the Premier League era to achieve 100 assists, after Ryan Giggs, Fabregas, Wayne Rooney and Frank Lampard.

De Bruyne reached 100 Premier League assists in just 237 matches. He managed the feat much quicker than Giggs, Fabregas, Giggs and Rooney.

After arriving at the Club in 2015, he clocked up nine assists in his first season before leading the charts for the time in 2016/17 with 18, his first campaign working under Pep Guardiola.

In 2017/18, De Bruyne laid 16 goals on a plate for his team-mates as the Blues registered a record 100 points and the Belgian secured his first Premier League title.

2019/20 was the midfielder’s best season in terms of Premier League assists, leading the way with 20. That was seven more than the next best in that campaign.

He has again been the most creative player in the league this time around and now has 14 to his name, forming a brilliant partnership with goal-beast, Haaland.
