Debbie Shokoya celebrates father-in-law birthday with a touching tribute, thanking him for being a loving, supportive, and caring presence in her life.
The Nollywood actress, known for her strong family values, took to Instagram to express her gratitude for having a father-in-law who reminds her so much of her late father.
In her lengthy post, Debbie shared that one of her heartfelt prayers was to marry into a family where she would have a father-in-law just like her dad—strict but fun, firm yet full of warmth. She said God took that desire to heart and gave her someone who fits perfectly into her life.
“I wanted the vibe I shared with my father to continue with my father-in-law, and God took it personally and gave me you.”
She described him as her vibe match, a man who never jokes with matters concerning her. According to Debbie, he has become more than just a father-in-law — he is a father in love.
Debbie thanked him for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering support, adding that he’s been nothing short of amazing to relate with. She prayed for long life, good health, and abundant blessings for the celebrant.

Debbie’s close bond with her in-laws isn’t new. Last year, she celebrated her mother-in-law with kind words, praising her gentle spirit and strong maternal support. She appreciated her for raising the loving and supportive husband she now calls her own.
Debbie Shokoya tied the knot in 2023 in a quiet ceremony. While rumours had swirled about the nature of her marriage, including claims she married a taken man, Debbie dismissed them, clarifying that people close to her had spread falsehoods out of jealousy and bitterness.
In a recent interview with fellow actress Bimpe Akintunde, she revealed how certain friends betrayed her trust by claiming her husband used spiritual manipulation (jazz) to win her over. Debbie firmly stated that God intentionally removed those people from her life.
