Nollywood actress Debbie Shokoya is celebrating her growth as her latest film Fimisinuola crosses 1.5 million views on YouTube.
On her birthday, the actress, popularly known as Debbie Shokoya, shared the good news on Instagram. Beaming with pride, she congratulated herself for the milestone and reflected on how far she has come in her journey—both personally and professionally.
Happy Birthday to Me!!! Congratulations to Fimisinuola on its 1.5 million views achieved on ‘Debbie Show TV’ owned by Deborah Shokoya. I am proud of how far I have grown,” she wrote.
Shokoya also opened up about the misconceptions people have about her life. She said that many assume she has it all together, but if they truly knew her struggles, they would think differently. Calling herself grace personified, she thanked God for how far she has come.
This isn’t the first time the actress has spoken out. Last year, she revealed plans to start including her family in her content creation, jokingly telling her husband to get ready to appear on camera—even in a skirt. She has also publicly criticised some of her peers in the Yoruba movie industry for producing subpar content, urging them to raise the bar and improve the perception of their work.
As 2024 began, Shokoya made a firm decision to protect her peace, stating she would steer clear of people who bring unnecessary drama. In February, she launched a podcast inspired by her journey into motherhood, aimed at encouraging and educating women.
