Following a long negotiation between Cremonese and Glasgow Rangers over a transfer for Nigeria international Cyriel Dessers, the striker is finally on his way to Ibrox. On Friday, Fabrizio Romano, an Italian transfer analyst, stated on Twitter that the Gers are on the verge of signing Dessers from Cremonese.
The Italian journalist claims that Rangers and Cremonese have agreed on a final transfer cost for the Nigeria international striker, implying that it would be a permanent move or a loan with the option to make it permanent, with an announcement due in the coming days.
“Documents are now being drafted for the 28-year-old to move to Rangers,” Romano tweeted.
Michael Beale actively seeks a new striker this summer after signing five players already. The Ibrox supporters will also find the arrival of Dessers very exciting and encouraging.
Despite Cremonese’s relegation from Serie A last season, Dessers scored seven goals in 29 appearances, and there is hope that the 28-year-old can replicate that form in Glasgow.
