Nollywood actor Deyemi Okanlawon has provided heartfelt advice to a woman who was kicked out by her husband after involving her brothers in their argument.
The anonymous woman sought advice online after a heated dispute with her husband escalated. She admitted to insulting his mother during the argument, which led to her husband slapping her. Following this, her brother, along with two other men, retaliated by beating up her husband. This sequence of events resulted in her husband throwing her out of the house.
The woman described her predicament:
I’m about to lose my marriage. On Sunday, my husband and I argued, and in the heat of the moment, I abused his mom. That’s when he slapped me, and my face swelled up. I went to our house, and my brother saw my face. He brought two boys and went to beat my husband. When I got back home, my belongings were outside. I love my man, please advise.”
Deyemi Okanlawon responded to her plea with a straightforward and balanced perspective:
Abuse for argument, slap for abuse, beating for slap, bags for beating… ojoro don cancel, case don solve. No need for any advice again just carry the bags to your papa/brother house. You have all done well!”
His advice suggests that the situation has resolved itself through the series of actions and consequences that followed the initial argument. He encouraged the woman to accept the outcome and move on, hinting that all parties involved had played their part in escalating the conflict.
