Nigerian disc jockey Florence Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy, is focusing on family following the recent death of her maternal grandmother.
Taking to Instagram, Cuppy shared heartwarming photos of herself and her younger sister, Temi Otedola, spending quality time with their paternal grandmother in Epe. Despite the sorrow of losing her maternal grandmother, Cuppy expressed gratitude for the opportunity to still cherish moments with her paternal grandma, who is 92 years old.
In her Instagram post, Cuppy reflected on the importance of staying connected to her roots, regardless of where life leads her:
This year, I lost one grandma, but SO thankful to still spend time with my other Grandma in our hometown, Epe. Regardless of where life takes me, staying connected to my roots keeps me grounded. Grandma Epe is 92 years young! God is Good.”
Last week, Cuppy announced the passing of her maternal grandmother at the age of 90. She shared the news on Instagram, expressing her grief and gratitude for the woman who shaped her mother and, in turn, herself. Cuppy described her grandmother as a formidable force who lived a full life.
In a subsequent post, Cuppy thanked the public for their love and support, finding solace in her Christian faith and the belief in life after death.
Following her grandmother’s death, Cuppy declared she was no longer searching for new friends. She shared photos from her grandmother’s burial ceremony, featuring her mother, sisters, and boxer Anthony Joshua, whom she described as her inner circle and tribe. She emphasized that these relationships were enough for her, and she wasn’t looking to expand her circle further.
