After two decades of dedication, Do2dtun, one of Nigeria’s most dynamic radio personalities, is parting ways with Cool FM. Sharing the news on Instagram, he described the decision as one of the hardest he’s ever made but expressed gratitude for the legacy he built during his time at the station.
Reflecting on his journey, Do2dtun recalled joining Cool FM on November 1, 2004, as an intern. He described himself then as “dusty, unprepared, and full of fear.” Despite this, the late Dan Foster, Daddy Freeze, and other colleagues believed in him and guided his early steps in the radio world.
Do2dtun credited God and his mentors for transforming him from a “midnight studio rat” into a primetime radio star. He celebrated his role in creating impactful shows such as Cool Nigerian Vibe, Superstar Wednesday, and Office Concert, which elevated Nigerian music and content on the airwaves.
In his heartfelt post, Do2dtun acknowledged the ups and downs of his career but highlighted the privilege of interviewing top personalities and shaping the industry. He also revealed his upcoming book, Do Not Believe the Hype, where he plans to share deeper insights into his journey.
Do2dtun concluded his post by thanking Cool FM leadership and his fans, emphasizing that his legacy is etched in gold. His departure marks the end of an era, but his influence on Nigerian radio will continue to resonate.
