The Department of State (DSS) intercepted and arrested two suspects. They allegedly hid guns in a bag of yam in Kano on Thursday. The suspect was reportedly travelling to deliver weapons in preparation for a planned attack on one of the northern states when he was arrested.
According to the Secret Police spokesman, Peter Afunanya, two AK-47 rifles and two empty AK-47 magazines had been intercepted. He said this to journalists in Abuja.
Afunanya also stated that a red boxer motorcycle was also intercepted by the agents.
