Godwin Emeifele, the former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, was taken before the Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
The EFCC had failed to comply with the FHC’s decision for it to appear in court on Monday or release Emefiele unconditionally.
Following the commission’s defiance, the court reaffirmed its decision and delayed hearings until Wednesday.
The EFCC, on the other hand, followed the order as Emefiele was carried into court by highly armed officers.
