Nollywood actress Eniola Badmus has sparked a heated reaction on social media following a recent Instagram post offering life advice.
Her message, which encourages followers to navigate life’s challenges with caution and self-reliance, has drawn mixed responses from netizens.
In her Instagram post, Eniola shared reflections on personal growth and resilience. She advised her followers to drive carefully through life, as people may “switch lanes” without warning. She emphasized the importance of self-reliance and making thoughtful choices, noting that personal wounds are not one’s fault but healing them is a personal responsibility. Her message also touched on the value of self-happiness and avoiding dependency on others for one’s joy.
Here’s a snippet from her post:
Drive carefully on this road called life because people will switch lanes on you without a signal. You learn much about people when they don’t get what they want from you. Stop being so available to people who are only there for you when it’s convenient for them. Choose your habits carefully; they decide your future. Your wound is not your fault, but your healing is your responsibility. Growth is often a painful process; hiding from your problems won’t make them disappear.”
Despite the motivational tone, Eniola’s message was met with considerable criticism from social media users. Many expressed frustration and disapproval in the comments:
– @MiracleDiamond318 wrote, “Deep down, you regret your step. Eh, no go better for you and Tinubu.”
– @OfficialDibekola commented, “If person talk now, una go wan arrest person. But some things are better left unsaid. No be say I dey fear o.”
– @GngBowy01 said, “If you have nothing to post, just keep quiet in your corner.”
– @JnrMartins01 wrote, “Na wetin dey sup be this rubbish wey you post abi? If you don’t have anything to post abeg, keep quiet.”
– @VerasTouch added, “Tell your papa to talk to Nigeria and hunger dey.”
Eniola’s recent political affiliations may have contributed to the negative reception of her post. Since supporting President Tinubu during the general election, Eniola has faced criticism from many Nigerians. In May, she was appointed as the Special Assistant to the Speaker of The Federal Republic of Nigeria on Social Events and Public Hearings, a role she expressed gratitude for but which also drew further scrutiny.
