Former Big Brother Naija star and actress, Eriata Ese, has set the record straight regarding her viral statement about marriage not being a flex.
Recall that Eriata had earlier fired back at a critic who mocked her for flaunting a baby bump outside wedlock. At the time, she questioned what the critic had achieved with her marriage certificate and said marriage wasn’t a flex.
Now clarifying her words via Instagram stories, the actress explained that she would never dismiss marriage in a serious conversation, as she grew up in a loving home and fully understands the value of family.
Please ignore bloggers. I would never say marriage is not a flex in a serious conversation. I grew up in a loving home and know how important family is. Only a damaged person will say a good marriage isn’t a flex. I know how exciting it feels to be in a healthy relationship; it’s like a dream come true coming home to someone who doesn’t joke about you,” she wrote.
Eriata further added that her earlier comment was simply a way of engaging her followers and creating lighthearted content.
This is me only creating engagement on my post and cruising with my followers, which I always do. I mind my business and stay away from anything that will put me in the blog for any negative narrative, but it seems like it’s almost unavoidable. It’s well,” she stated.
In 2023, the actress welcomed a child, sparking rumours that she was involved with a married man in Canada. She, however, shut down the allegations, explaining that she had always planned to get pregnant with or without a husband and was not concerned about outsiders’ opinions.
