Former Big Brother Naija star, Eriata Ese, has sparked reactions online after responding to a critic who questioned her about flaunting a baby bump without being married.
The reality star had shared a video on Instagram showing off her baby bump when a follower asked if the pregnancy was real and who the father was. Eriata simply replied that “God is the daddy.”
Another fan went further to say that giving birth outside marriage isn’t a flex, to which Eriata fired back, insisting that marriage itself isn’t a flex either. She challenged the critic to state what he had achieved with his marriage certificate before she would even consider giving it a shot.

The exchange has since stirred conversations online, with some defending her stance while others criticised her choice of words.
Earlier this year on Mother’s Day, Eriata unveiled her son with a touching message to mothers, appreciating their strength, warmth, and sacrifice.
It would be recalled that in 2023, the actress welcomed a child and faced rumours of being involved with a colleague’s husband based in Canada. She quickly dismissed the claims, stating that her pregnancy was a personal decision and not tied to anyone’s marriage. According to her, she had always planned to become a mother in 2023, with or without a husband, and remains unbothered by the opinions of strangers.
Away from the controversy, the BBNaija alum has also spoken about the downside of fame, admitting that being a public figure comes with constant negativity and unnecessary judgment, which sometimes makes her regret choosing life in the spotlight.
