The Federal Government approved salary increases ranging from 25% to 35% for government officials in the remaining six Consolidated wage Structures.

The Salary Structure includes the Consolidated Public Service Salary Structure (CONPSS), the Consolidated Research and Allied Institutions Salary Structure (CONRAISS), the Consolidated Police Salary Structure (CONPOSS), the Consolidated Paramilitary Salary Structure (CONPASS), the Consolidated Intelligence Community Salary Structure (CONICCS), and the Consolidated Armed Forces Salary Structure.

Those in the Tertiary Education and Health Sectors had previously received salary increases, which included the Consolidated University Academic Salary Structure (CONUASS) and the Consolidated Tertiary Institutions Salary Structure (CONTISS) for universities.

It included the Consolidated Polytechnics and Colleges of Education Academic Staff Salary Structure (CONPCASS) and the Consolidated Tertiary Educational Institutions Salary Structure.

The Consolidated Medical Salary Structure (CONMESS) and Consolidated Health Sector Salary Structure (CONHESS) benefited the health sector as well.

According to a statement issued by Emmanuel Njoku, Head of Press at the National Salaries, Incomes, and Wages Commission (NSIWC), the hikes will take effect on January 1, 2024.

The Federal Government has also authorised pension increases of 20% to 28% for retirees on the Defined Benefits Scheme in respect of the six consolidated wage structures listed above, effective January 1, 2024.
