The Ameerah of the Federation of Muslim Women’s Association of Nigeria (FOMWAN), Hajiya Kaltume Abubakar, said the association provided meals to feed 500 orphans in the state to celebrate Eid el-Fitr.
Abubakar told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Jos on Monday that the gesture was to free people from hunger.
Feeding people with low income, she said, is the duty of every capable Muslim.
The Ameerah emphasized the importance of sadhaka, particularly when done for Allah, as it has a way of bringing joy.
She said, “We should do it as a privilege to feed the starving people around us.”
She added that the distribution of the goods also gave the FOMWAN association an opportunity to reach out to the youth to avoid violence and immorality that defiled them.
According to Abubakar, the celebration was peaceful, and all Glory be to God.
