A group of former security men, known as the Happie Boys, has issued a public apology to clergyman Apostle Chinyere. This is coming after he criticized them for publicly calling him out. In a wild grass-to-grace story, the young men had lost their jobs as security personnel at a fast food joint in Lagos. However, they were granted scholarships to study in Cyprus by the generous clergyman. Their employment termination came after they recorded a video of themselves dancing while on duty.
Following their dismissal, the Happie Boys took to social media to seek assistance. Their plea reached Apostle Chinyere, who not only reached out to them but also awarded them scholarships to study in Turkey. However, last week, they shared a video in which the clergyman allegedly cursed them. They accused him of abandoning them in Cyprus after providing funds for their initial six months in Turkey.
Responding to the accusations on his Facebook page, Apostle Chinyere made his explanations.
He explained that the challenging economic conditions made it unfeasible for him to continue financing the scholarships. He advised them to return to Nigeria or proceed to Benin Republic to continue their education. Apostle Chinyerefurther assured them of his forgiveness and willingness to support their studies. That is if they chose to enrol in a Nigerian university or Benin Republic.
In a recent video posted by the Happie Boys, they offered their sincere apologies to Apostle Chinyere but firmly stated that they would not be returning to Nigeria. They emphasized their disinterest in scholarships within Nigeria and declared their decision to pursue alternative educational opportunities elsewhere.
While the Happie Boys expressed regret for their actions and sought reconciliation with the clergyman, the public looks forward to what choices the former security men will make and how their educational journey will progress.
