Nollywood’s Funke Akindele has joined in the celebration as Priscilla Ojo and her husband, Tanzanian singer Juma Jux, prepare to welcome their first child.
The couple made their joyous announcement on Instagram, sharing radiant photos from their maternity shoot, with Priscilla’s baby bump on full display. In response, Funke took to her Instagram page to shower them with blessings.
This joy is permanent in Jesus’ name. Congratulations Mr and Mrs Mkambala,” she wrote. She didn’t forget Iyabo Ojo, Priscilla’s mother, adding: “My darling Iyabo, Ayo e o ni dibaje lagbara Olorun. AMIN!!! Tanzania!! We are on our way!!!”
Funke’s message is more than just celebratory; it’s rooted in a genuine relationship that has blossomed over the years. Earlier in May, she flew to Tanzania for Priscilla’s grand wedding finale. Iyabo gave her a warm welcome on arrival, complete with flowers and a cape, and the moment was captured in a touching video shared online.
During the wedding festivities in Nigeria, Funke had also congratulated the couple and expressed how honoured she felt to witness such a milestone. She spoke highly of Priscilla, calling her happiness a reflection of the love and effort Iyabo has poured into motherhood.
Though Funke missed some parts of the wedding celebration, she later shared her regret online. Still, she continued to support Priscilla publicly, especially when she landed her first endorsement deal after the wedding, calling it a season of wins for her.
This celebration also brought reactions from music executive Paulo Okoye, Iyabo Ojo’s partner. Taking to Instagram, he wrote, “PartyTime for Grandma & Grandpa!!! GodPlan,” tagging the couple and family members in his post.
Paulo, who is a father of two, has been in a public relationship with Iyabo since her 45th birthday in December 2022. The couple, known for their lighthearted take on love, have openly expressed that their relationship is about companionship and shared joy—not expanding their family.
On Father’s Day, Iyabo penned a glowing message to Paulo, praising him as a wonderful father and praying that he lives long enough to see his children and grandchildren thrive.
