Nollywood actress Georgina Ibeh has spoken out after losing her Samsung Fold phone at the premiere of Toyin Abraham’s much-talked-about movie, Oversabi Aunty, held in Lagos.
Taking to her Instagram page shortly after the event, Georgina revealed that although she enjoyed the movie, the incident dampened her mood. She explained that she still felt compelled to post about the film so people would understand just how much she admired it.
In her review, the actress praised Oversabi Aunty as a standout production, applauding Toyin Abraham for delivering a compelling story. According to her, the cast gave strong performances, and the storyline successfully stirred a range of emotions.
She described the movie as one that would make viewers laugh, cry, feel angry, and ultimately satisfied, adding that she deliberately avoided spoilers so cinema-goers could fully enjoy the experience themselves. Georgina urged fans to watch the film once it officially hits cinemas, insisting it is worth the time.
However, she admitted that her excitement was cut short when her Samsung Fold phone went missing at the venue. The actress disclosed that she had not been herself since discovering the loss and appealed to anyone who might have come across the phone to reach out to her directly.
The incident adds to a growing list of similar losses reported at high-profile Nollywood events. Last year, actress Mercy Aigbe lost two phones at Iyabo Ojo’s movie premiere, an issue that prompted public appeals during the event. Mercy was later named Best Dressed Female at the premiere and received a cash reward.
Singer and actress Angela Okorie has also previously expressed frustration after losing her Samsung phone at an event, while talent manager Soso Soberekon once offered a cash reward to anyone who could help recover his missing phone after a celebrity wedding.
Despite the setback, Georgina Ibeh’s glowing review of Oversabi Aunty has further fueled anticipation around the film, which continues to generate strong buzz within the Nollywood community.
