The Osun State Government announced on Monday that it has started distributing generators across the state’s 332 political wards to power the boreholes dug by the administration of Governor Adeleke Ademola.

The government disclosed this in a bulletin issued by the state Ministry of Information. The report states that they dug 332 boreholes to commemorate Governor Adeleke’s first 100 days in government.

Olaoye Abayomi, Director of Water Sanitation and Environment at the Ministry of Environment, described the gesture as unparalleled in the state’s history. He made these remarks while handing out the generator at the Government Secretariat, Abere.

“By the World Organisation Standard, a borehole is to serve 3,500 people, which means Mr Governor has provided water for about two million people in the state,” he further stated.

He praised Adeleke for his dedication to distributing drinkable water throughout the state.
