Potter, who has been without a managerial role since his departure from Chelsea in 2023, was linked with various clubs including Manchester United and Crystal Palace before Ajax came into the picture. Despite positive discussions with Ajax officials, the financial aspect of the offer did not align with Potter’s requirements.
The 48-year-old, known for his transformative work at Brighton, began his coaching career in Sweden before making a mark in English football. While Ajax sought to secure his services, Potter remains on the lookout for the right managerial position.
