Erling Haaland, the striker of Manchester City, won the Premier League Golden Boot for the 2022-2023 campaign by scoring 36 Premier League goals, breaking the record.
However, Man City lost 1-0 to Brentford in their final league match. Man City manager Pep Guardiola left Haaland on the bench, preventing him from improving his tally of 36 goals. Manchester City left Kevin De Bruyne out of their Matchday squad. However, after the Brentford game, he won the Playmaker award for the most assists with 16.
Moreover, the Golden Boot is just one of the many awards in Haaland’s collection. He became the first Player to receive both Player of the Season and Young Player of the Year in the Premier League’s annual awards.
The 22-year-old also claimed the Football Writers’ Footballer of the Year award earlier this month and lifted his first Premier League trophy with Manchester City last Sunday.
