Nollywood actress Halima Abubakar has publicly shared her ongoing battles with serious health challenges and financial difficulties in an emotional video on Instagram.
The actress, who appeared visibly frail, opened up about her struggles with high blood pressure, which recently spiked to 157, and her need for further medical procedures.
Halima disclosed that she has undergone multiple MRI scans at a Turkish hospital in Nigeria and continues to seek medical care. However, her prolonged absence from the Nollywood industry, spanning over six years, has left her in financial distress.
Expressing her pain, she lamented the lack of support from her colleagues and even accused her best friend of abandoning her during this challenging time.
In her words:
“I’m not feeling fine up till now; I’m just good at being strong. I’m pretending as if I’m okay. This is the real me… I’ve done MRI three times at a Turkish hospital, but there’s nothing wrong medically now. Yet, people say I’m lying about being sick.”
The actress expressed her frustration over accusations that she was fabricating her illness, stating:
“It’s a mad person that lies that they are sick. I was in the village for over a year. My own best friend hasn’t checked on me even once. What else do you guys want? Do you want me to die or kill myself?”
Her heartfelt plea has drawn mixed reactions from fans and Nollywood colleagues. While many have expressed their support and called for assistance, others have raised concerns about her well-being.
