Neda Imasuen, a senator representing Edo South in the National Assembly, has criticized the current administration’s policies.

He disapproved of the Tinubu administration’s moves to eliminate the petrol subsidy and unify FX windows.

Imasuen, a Labour Party (LP) member and Chairman of the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Public Petitions, spoke on Channels Television’s Inside Sources on Sunday.

According to him, Nigerians, particularly the middle class, are paying an exorbitant price for Tinubu’s alleged changes.

According to the house member, the legislative can only support the administration and hope that their strategy leads us to the desired goal.

However, Imaseun feels that the current scenario is not one for trading blame, but rather one in which everyone should sit down and seek answers to the masses’ suffering.

According to Senator Imaseun:

“The steps that are being taken, I’m afraid that the suffering that Nigerians are going through right now is too much of a price to pay for it.

“Now, this is a country that we don’t produce; we import, and we are devaluing our naira. I don’t see how that is going to help us. Everything is tied to the dollar, and the dollar keeps going up.

“Let’s develop our industries. These SMEs work a lot if we can strengthen small and medium enterprises and give the middle class breathing space to do what they have to do.

“On this question of subsidy, there is no country that does not subsidise, especially in the area of agriculture.

“Today, many cannot buy a bag of rice; it’s about N100,000,” Imaseun added.
