Job Description
Reporting to the Country Leader, the successful candidate will have proven experience managing a portfolio of clients and prospects with accountability for retention of clients and new business development. The Head of Reinsurance – Nigeria & Ghana will manage and develop client relationships and grow the portfolio within the business unit and responsible for targeting and converting prospects.
The Role
- To strategize and achieve Domestic and regional Re Insurance sales targets across multiple countries in West and Central Africa.
- To drive business growth through forging strong Strategic tie-ups and Alliances for Re Insurers interested in the region.
- To promote business development initiatives for Cedant driven facultative reinsurance as well as client driven facultative reinsurance .
- To ensure efficient Back office operations for superior customer experience of the Re Insurance Clients
- To emphasize strict compliance with adherence to Risk, compliance and legal norms
- To review business performance & profitability via a strong and periodic MIS system
- To promote best talent, ensure skill enhancement and develop strong team for the Re Insurance operations
- Manage existing portfolio by identifying new, and/or existing facultative reinsurance opportunities and participate in cross selling across WTW
- Develop and maintain a portfolio of prospects including research, initiation of contact and new business presentations in order to obtain new business
- Provide technical, industry and subject matter expertise to provide support, service and advice to clients
- Determine appropriate solutions, structure, price and placement strategies that meet the clients’ needs and deliver profitable business for a range of clients
- Broke, or liaise with placing brokers to achieve agreement of markets where required and maintain diary/pending system to monitor progress
- Creation of presentations for both new and existing clients
- Maintain accurate and concise placing files, using corporate document management system
- Adhere to and meet fully the expectations of WTW, as set out in its policies and procedures, training material, and embedded in its systems and controls. Our policies and procedures are written to encapsulate the compliance, legal and financial crime related legislation and regulations which apply to WTW
- Promote WTW’s brand and values to enhance WTW reputation in the market
Qualifications
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience into Reinsurance Department (Sales and Operations)
- Graduate (BSc/BA). ACII will be an added advantage
- Proven experience working with wholesale clients and stakeholders.
- Should have worked effectively with Senior-level executives and top management.
- Must have strong interpersonal skills, maturity and good judgment.
- Capable of communicating with a diverse range of individuals.
