In the aftermath of England’s 1-0 win against Australi, Jordan Henderson faced jeers from sections of the Wembley crowd, a reaction to his recent transfer to Saudi Arabian side Al-Ettifaq. The 33-year-old midfielder, who previously voiced concerns about controversial laws in the region, remains resolute in the face of criticism.

Addressing the boos, Henderson acknowledged the discomfort of being jeered by “your own fans” but emphasized that the negativity “won’t change who I am.” The former Liverpool captain, now plying his trade in the Saudi League, had captained England in the friendly match.

Despite the backlash, Henderson stands by his decision to move to the Middle East and asserts his commitment to representing England.

He stated, “It’s not nice, your own fans, if they were booing. But listen, it won’t change who I am and what I do for this team and for my country.”

The experienced midfielder, focused on helping England secure a place in the European Championships, remains undeterred by the opinions surrounding his overseas move.

Looking ahead, England, led by Gareth Southgate, will face Italy in their next match as they aim to secure qualification for the upcoming European Championships in Germany.
