Nigerian chef, Hilda Baci, is on a mission to break the Guinness World Record for longest individual cooking. Her attempt to break the record is remarkable and has attracted notable celebrities and thousands of Nigerians who are following her live events closely via social media. Breaking the Guinness World Record for longest cooking by an individual is no easy feat and it requires a significant amount of dedication, skill and perseverance.
Despite the challenges and physical demands of cooking for hours straight, Hilda has shown incredible resilience and determination to see this through. She has cooked over 110 meals and served over 2,795 people, all while maintaining the high standards of excellence that her brand is synonymous with.
Some of the highlights of the cook-a-thon include the yoga class in the morning, facilitated by Tobe Ifeanyi and a speech from Hilda’s mother at 47 hours when Hilda needed motivation. Hilda’s mother is the owner of “Calabar Pot“, one of the top restaurants in Abuja.
Over the night, 58 hours into the cook-a-thon, a group of traditional Efik dancers came to support Hilda, dressed in traditional dancing gear. Enioluwa hyped and prayed with the crowd in the middle of the night, creating a sense of community and shared purpose.
The #HildaBaciCookathon is sponsored by Hilda’s restaurant, My Food by Hilda; GB Foods; Arla; Woodscope; Baigewallet; Filmhouse; Uber; Monty Suites and the Culinary Arts Practitioners Association of Nigeria.
Hilda’s cook-a-thon is not only inspiring but also positively impacting lives. It has also brought together a diverse community of Nigerians, celebrities, food bloggers and brands who have come out to support her.
