Following the tragic news of the suicide of Mrs. Toluige Olokoobi, the mother of the viral “mummy calm down” boy, the Edo State Police Command has officially confirmed the arrest of her husband. Mrs. Olokoobi’s husband is currently in police custody and is being detained for questioning.
The spokesperson for the Edo State Police Command, Chidi Nwabuzor, provided details of the arrest in an interview with BBC Pidgin on Thursday, November 9. According to Nwabuzor, the husband alerted neighbors after discovering his wife’s situation, and they accompanied him to the hospital where she was later confirmed dead.
The deceased woman’s body has been deposited in the mortuary, and investigations are ongoing. Nwabuzor mentioned that the husband is presently in police custody and will soon be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for further investigation.
