Comedian Seyi Law has made it clear that he did not solicit votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Recall that Seyi Law has been the target of criticism on social media due to the difficult economic times, with many people attacking him for endorsing President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
But Seyi Law explained his earlier comments made during the general election of 2023 when he spoke on the most recent edition of “The Honest Bunch” with Nedu Wazobia.
The comedian insisted that he did not solicit votes for Tinubu, but instead publicly stated that he was his favourite candidate.
Seyi Law maintained that it was unjust for people to keep blaming him for the nation’s economic woes and that he never pushed Nigerians to vote for President Tinubu.
According to him:
“I never said ‘vote for Tinubu’. Go and check. I write the things that I know he did in Lagos, and I will put ‘Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is my candidate or is who I am voting for.’ I didn’t tell you to vote for him. And again, Seyi Law did not make the 8.9 million that voted for him. I am just a number among those numbers.”
