Award-winning comedian Otaghware O. Onodjayeke, better known as I Go Save, has shared a thought-provoking observation about modern marriages, urging singles to reflect deeply before making life-changing decisions.

He emphasized how some marriages seem to prioritize material gains rather than true love.

The comedian shared a story where he reflected on how love is no longer the primary focus for some couples, pointing out that many are more interested in the wedding, fame, and connections it brings. Once these goals are achieved, divorce often follows.

His candid message to his followers was:

E be like say these days, some marriages no be about love again o. It’s about who can give you your dream wedding, fame, and connections, then Divorce. Before you say, I Do, search your hearts.”

I Go Save’s reflection comes as a reminder to singles to carefully consider their motives and intentions before entering marriage. He urges them to look inward and ask themselves what truly matters in a lifelong commitment. His message has sparked conversations about the materialistic trends that are creeping into relationships.

Similarly, actress Sarah Martins recently opened up about the struggles of faithful women in marriages. She shared her emotional breakdown on social media, revealing that many women endure a lot as their husbands engage in extramarital affairs, yet refuse to touch or appreciate their wives. Sarah pleaded with men to pay more attention to the emotional needs of their wives and stop taking them for granted.

Veteran actress Rita Edochie also weighed in on marital issues, offering advice to women who are suffering in silence. After a video surfaced of a woman enduring emotional abuse, Rita condemned the rising incidents of abuse in marriages. She encouraged women to walk away from toxic relationships, stressing that no one should endure abuse, no matter the circumstance. Rita also criticized men who body-shame women, calling for more respect and compassion within marriages.

In another instance last year, I Go Save expressed concern over the worsening hunger crisis in Nigeria. He stated that the hunger in the country was so overwhelming that it could be heard without the need for earphones. During the Christmas season, I Go Save received a record number of requests for help, prompting him to urge Nigerians to support one another and lend a helping hand wherever possible.
