Talented Nigerian actor and producer Ibrahim Yekini, popularly known as Itele, has publicly called out a female colleague for spreading gossip about him.
Taking to his Instagram page, Itele expressed his concerns over the negative talk that seems to originate from this colleague, questioning why it was happening when he had never done anything to offend her.
In his heartfelt message, Itele emphasized the hard work he has put into his career, stating that he and the colleague operate in different roles within the industry. He urged her to cease the unnecessary and hurtful gossip, highlighting that such behaviour creates division among people who care for one another.
Dear female colleague, I want to address something that’s been bothering me. I’ve noticed some gossip about me, and it seems to be coming from you. I don’t understand why this is happening, as I have never done anything to offend you. We work in different roles, and I worked so hard to be here, Anu mi Mori gba. I kindly ask that you stop these negative talks, as they are unnecessary and hurtful!” he wrote.
Itele continued,
Speeding gossip to create division between people who love each other reveals more about their own insecurities than the truth of those they speak about. True strength lies in building bridges, not burning them!”
This incident echoes a similar situation that occurred in May when actress Motilola publicly addressed her senior colleague, Kunle Afod, and his wife, Desola Afod, for allegedly sabotaging her career. In a lengthy video, she detailed the mistreatment she faced from colleagues due to Kunle Afod’s interference, pleading with him to stop defaming her as she was no longer interested in maintaining a relationship with him.
