David Adeleke, better known by his stage as Davido, a well-known Nigerian Afrobeats singer, has disclosed why he decided not to include a tribute to his late son Ifeanyi Adeleke in his most recent album, “Timeless.”
Fans of Davido had anticipated that the album would highlight the singer’s late son, Ifeanyi. Davido, though, opted to make the record more entertaining. He revealed that he intended to make a classic album with few or no sad songs to prevent fans from becoming emotional about the loss of his kid. He made this statement on Monday during a press conference before the upcoming ‘Timeless’ performance slated for April 23 in Lagos.
He said,
He said, ”People who have been following songs for years can attest to this. I have always been a happy person, regardless of what I may be going through.
”If sad songs are to come, it will be an entirely different project on its own as I never had plans of combining them.”
Davido also recently claimed that his most recent album, “Timeless,” was his final opportunity to produce an acceptable record
