Insecurity: Gov Alia urges Benue residents to support new military operation

Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia has urged residents of the state to support the military and other security forces in their fight against insecurity.

Alia made the statement during the unveiling of the military operation “Exercise Enduring Peace III” in Tyodugh, Guma Local Government Area on Tuesday.

The Governor pleaded with residents to help the operatives by providing relevant information.

Alis expressed confidence in the military exercise and the work of other security authorities to rid the state of criminal groups.

He praised the military and other security agencies for their sacrifices and services to the state and the nation as a whole.

Brig.-Gen Al-Amin Rabiu, Commander of the 401 Special Forces Brigade, Makurdi, challenged the troops to maintain professionalism while doing their duty.

He stated that the drill, which is based on real-time intelligence on the state’s current security threat, will endure until January 5, 2024.

Maj.-Gen Hilary Nzan, Commander, Special Forces Command, Doma, Nasarawa State, further stated that the exercise will be performed jointly in Benue State by troops from the 401 Special Forces Brigade and personnel from paramilitary agencies recruited from other commands within the State.
