Octerra Capital is seeking a talented and analytical Investment Analyst to join our team. As an Investment Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in our investment process, assisting in identifying, evaluating, and managing potential investments in high-growth tech companies across Africa. This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of finance, technology, and impact investing.
Responsibilities
- Deal Sourcing: Actively source and identify investment opportunities within the African tech ecosystem, conducting market research and building a strong deal pipeline.
- Due Diligence: Conduct comprehensive due diligence on potential investment targets, including financial analysis, market research, competitive analysis, and management team assessment.
- Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain financial models to assess the financial viability, growth potential, and risk associated with prospective investments.
- Investment Memos: Prepare detailed investment memos and presentations for internal discussions and investment committee meetings.
- Portfolio Management: Monitor and support existing portfolio companies, including tracking their performance, financial health, and adherence to impact goals.
- Market Research: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market dynamics, and emerging technologies relevant to the African tech landscape.
- Reporting and Analysis: Generate regular reports and analysis on the performance of portfolio companies and the overall fund.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field.
- Previous experience in investment analysis, venture capital, private equity, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong financial modelling skills and proficiency in Excel or other financial software.
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills.
- Passion for technology, startups, and impact-driven investing.
- Strong communication and presentation abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
