Job Description
The IT (User Support) Officer to provide technical support & assistance to individual users and teams across the Organization by installing, configuring, testing and upgrading computer hardware & software where required; contributing to the detection & resolution of various issues to ensure the smooth operation of the Organization’s IT infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Installation, set-up and sharing of desktops, laptops, printers, scanners etc. across the Company’s LAN/WAN.
- Set up new users’ accounts & profiles, handling related e.g., password issues.
- Create and deploy email configuration, user, and file permission over the network.
- Provide user support for all staff of the Organization through a series of actions (face-to-face, via email/messenger platforms or over the phone,) to help set-up systems or resolve issues.
- Deploy, monitor and maintain network infrastructure (IP address, subnet mask, static routers, switches, DHCP switches, DHCP servers, wireless access points etc.).
- Conduct of basic troubleshooting/diagnostics of system & network problems, basic repairs or upgrades of computer hardware, software and peripherals e.g., printers.
- IT Project Management support.
- Liaise with relevant vendors/suppliers/contractors etc. on behalf of the Organization.
- Provide administrative support to the IT team, including generation of various documents, manuals and reports.
- Perform others functions as may be assigned by the IT Coordinator.
Qualification
- HND qualification
- 2 – 3 years’ relevant work experience in the same or similar role.
- IT user-support specific skills (LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, network security & MS Office support) and experience.
- Strong verbal & written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Must be analytical, with a logical approach to problem-solving.
- Well-developed time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments.
- Understands discretion and can handle confidential & sensitive data/information accordingly.
- Can demonstrate job commitment and personal flexibility to meet dynamic organizational requirements and expectations.
- Committed to continuous learning & self-development.
- Capable of working independently, with minimum supervision.
