Nollywood actress and mother of the bride, Iyabo Ojo, has publicly acknowledged her junior colleague, Kudirat Ogunro, for the vital role she played in raising her children.
Iyabo revealed that during periods when she was away filming, Kudirat took care of her kids, cooking, nurturing, and training them. She specifically mentioned how Kudirat cared for her daughter Priscilla and son Festus, ensuring they were well looked after in her absence.
She raised Priscilla. Thank you so much for the times I would travel looking for work and be at movie locations. You would stay at home to take care of Priscilla; you would give her and Festus food and training,” Iyabo said.
Kudirat also prayed for Priscilla during her traditional wedding, expressing hope that the couple would soon be blessed with twins.
The two women have had their ups and downs; in 2023, during Iyabo’s online spat with MC Oluomo, she made a pointed statement about how she had given Kudirat her grandfather’s name, supported her financially by paying her child’s school fees, and introduced her to the movie industry. Kudirat responded by choosing not to engage in the dispute, preferring to keep a low profile.
Their relationship appears to have since been restored, as both women were seen together during a condolence visit to Fuji singer Pasuma following the death of his mother. Videos circulating online show Kudirat sitting and chatting amicably with Iyabo while awaiting Pasuma.
