Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has publicly reconciled with MC Oluomo, the newly appointed National President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).
Despite their fallout during the 2023 general election over political differences, Iyabo set aside past grievances to celebrate his latest accomplishment.
Taking to Instagram, Iyabo Ojo expressed heartfelt congratulations, wishing MC Oluomo a prosperous and successful tenure. Her post read:
“Congratulations on your newly elected appointment as the president of NURTW. I wish you a long and prosperous tenure filled with good health, happiness, and continued success. May you excel in all your endeavors and achieve great heights. Once again, congratulations! @kingmcoluomo.”
MC Oluomo graciously responded in the comments, appreciating her well-wishes:
“Thanks, sister mi.”
While Iyabo’s gesture drew praise for her maturity and willingness to forgive, some commenters speculated about the survival instincts in Nigeria’s challenging socio-political environment. Fans commended her for her grace, with messages like:
- “Your heart is pure gold. Why I love you.” – Chioma Good Hair
- “Iyabo, you’re a wonderful woman to be studied. You’re too mature for your age.” – The Ream Ikateena
- “Queen mother for a reason.” – Adegoke Adeola2021
In March 2023, Iyabo Ojo and MC Oluomo had a public rift due to their political allegiances: Iyabo supported Labour Party’s Peter Obi, while MC Oluomo backed APC’s Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Despite the tension, Iyabo affirmed she never held personal animosity and emphasized her respect for him. On his birthday later that year, she even referred to him as her “dear friend” and “paddy for life.”
