Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has responded to investigative journalist Kemi Olunloyo’s accusations regarding her late mother. The heated exchange, which has garnered significant attention online, has brought years of tension between the two into the spotlight.
In a recent Facebook post, Kemi Olunloyo alleged that Iyabo Ojo’s late mother passed away due to complications from paranoid schizophrenia, claiming Iyabo mistreated her until her death.
Contrary to rumours that she sacrificed her mom for fame, Iyabo Ojo’s mother actually died of paranoid schizophrenia. She abused the 67-year-old woman to the end,” Kemi alleged.
During an Instagram live session, Iyabo Ojo did not hold back in addressing Kemi’s claims. The actress called the journalist’s life “pathetic” and accused her of harboring hatred and bitterness. Iyabo issued strong words, praying that Kemi’s curses would only take effect if the allegations were true, but if not, the curses would rebound on Kemi and her generation.
Kemi Olunloyo, you shall beg for money until you die. At your age, when you should be enjoying life, you are busy blogging out of hatred. If I ever mistreated my mother, may your curses be mine, but if I cared for her as I did, then your generation shall forever be cursed.”
Iyabo further mocked Kemi, claiming her relevance only comes from attacking her and vowing to respond with more intensity if provoked further.
The feud between Iyabo Ojo and Kemi Olunloyo has been ongoing for years. In 2023, Iyabo expressed a desire to assist Kemi by covering her bills for psychiatric treatment, urging the public to share Kemi’s location.
The tension escalated when Kemi made disparaging remarks about Iyabo’s daughter, Priscilla, accusing her of being naive and attributing her confidence to her mother’s past relationships.
