Nigerian dancer, Jane Mena, has opened up about why she has two children under the age of 2. In response to actress Jemima Osunde’s post about her painful menstrual cramps, Jane revealed that having children was her way of avoiding the discomfort of monthly periods.
Taking to Instagram, Jane Mena admitted that she decided to have her two children back-to-back to prevent herself from experiencing menstrual cramps. She humorously noted how peaceful life was before her kids arrived but emphasized that avoiding her period was worth it. “2 under 2. Na because person no wan been seen period. Life was peaceful,” she wrote.
Hours earlier, Jemima Osunde had shared a video lamenting her intense menstrual cramps. The actress described her symptoms, which included aches, mood swings, cravings, midnight snacking, and bloating, and how these caused her significant discomfort each month.
Jane Mena’s revelation sparked reactions from netizens, with many sharing their own experiences or questioning her logic. One user, Mau Baby, suggested, “Just have a baby, it will stop,” while Henry Adolphus asked, “Is the pain and discomfort of pregnancy not worse than period cramps?”
Another user, Kween Thonia, supported Jane’s decision by stating,
I stopped having period cramps after I gave birth. So peaceful.”
Jane Mena welcomed her second child, a baby boy, in 2023, a year after having her first son in 2022. The birth of her children came amid a controversial period in her life, as it debunked claims made by Tonto Dikeh that Jane’s husband was impotent.
During a public feud with Jane over Prince Kpokpogri, Tonto had accused Jane of being adulterous and claimed that her husband was impotent. Jane’s back-to-back pregnancies silenced the rumors and refuted Tonto’s claims.
Jane had previously expressed her desire to have four children, but in February of last year, she shared that she was reconsidering this plan after experiencing the physical toll of pregnancy.
