Beautiful Nollywood actress Jemima Osunde has taken to social media to express her frustrations as she endures extreme menstrual pains. In a heartfelt video, Jemima shared her experience, looking forlorn as she discussed the intensity of her monthly struggles.
The actress detailed her period symptoms, which include severe backaches, mood swings, cravings, midnight snacking, and bloating. She emphasized that her gynecologist is always on speed dial and that she relies on medication for dysmenorrhea to manage the pain.
Jemima wrote extensively on Instagram, addressing the challenges of menstruation:
Whether it’s your first one or 100th one, periods are annoying! Point blank PERIOD! Just even the concept of ohhhh I’m bleeding—not injured or anything, just bleeding—will always be WILD to me! See why you need to treat us with care and consideration?”
Reflecting on her recent experiences, she recounted the difficulties she faced:
- Backaches: “I went to buy water at the supermarket and had to borrow the retailer’s chair for a minute because my back couldn’t take a few minutes of standing.”
- Mood Swings: “Omg! The sadness…sorry to my friends. It’s not me; it’s the hormonessss. Moody, don’t feel like talking with a sprinkle of crying.”
- Cravings: “The way I crave things and feel like the world might end if I didn’t eat them!”
- Midnight Snacking: “I woke up last week to drink garri with suya at 1am. Unprovoked. I sent my friend proof on WhatsApp to remind me of my offense.”
- Bloating: “This might be the worst one because it comes with acid reflux. Sometimes, it feels like I’m in my second trimester of pregnancy.”
Jemima humorously added that once her period ends, she enjoys a few weeks of sanity—“if you’re not counting the wahala that comes with ovulation too”—before the cycle begins again. She concluded with a shout-out to fellow women, encouraging them to use the comment section to vent about their experiences.
Shout out to Eve, she should not allow me to catch her on the other side. I know I’m not alone sha,” she said.
