Veteran Nollywood actor Jide Kosoko expressed heartfelt gratitude to fans, family, and colleagues for celebrating his 71st birthday.
Taking to Instagram, the celebrated actor thanked everyone for their love, prayers, and well-wishes. In his words,
I thank everyone deeply for the love you showed me yesterday. I do not take it for granted. As you have celebrated me, may you all always be celebrated.”
Jide Kosoko’s children—Shola, Bidemi, and Temi Kosoko—marked the occasion with touching tributes on social media. Fellow Nollywood stars also honored him with glowing messages.
Kosoko’s gratitude stems from numerous milestones. In December, he and fellow veteran Adebayo Salami received Honorary Doctorate Degrees in Theatre and Media Arts, recognizing their indelible contributions to Nollywood and African culture.
Additionally, he was appointed head of his royal family at the Oteniya branch and reaffirmed as the Family Ambassador, a position he accepted with prayers for wisdom and unity.
Kosoko has been vocal about social issues, including drug abuse. In a humorous yet impactful post, he declared himself the “New Chairman of NDLEA,” urging fans to embrace healthier lifestyles.
On a personal note, he celebrated his daughter Shola’s 45th birthday, lauding her as a symbol of perseverance and success. The actor also reunited with Pete Edochie after 12 years, sharing a heartwarming video of their meeting.
