The Jigawa State Police Command has presented cheques worth N29,280,412.07 to the families of the 20 police officers who were killed. This was stated by Command Spokesperson, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam in a statement.
He said the presentation of the check was part of the IGP Welfare Insurance Scheme. It is provided to the families of deceased police officers.
Police Commissioner in the state, Effiom Emmanuel Ekot presented the check on behalf of the state command. He further acknowledged the efforts of the Inspector General of Police for improving the welfare of Nigerian police officers and men.
He urged the beneficiaries to use the money wisely for the betterment of their families.
