Job Description
Wex, Inc. is looking for a Junior Network Security Engineer. This individual would be responsible for implementing and maintaining security tools in a globally-distributed enterprise environment.
Responsibilities
- Possess knowledge and experience with Network Firewalls
- Can engineer, implement, and monitor security measures to protect the enterprise
- Can configure and troubleshoot network security infrastructure devices
- Regularly review configurations and develop improvement plans
- Develop technical solutions and new security tools to help mitigate security findings
- Write comprehensive reports including assessment-based findings, outcomes, and recommendations for security enhancement.
- Have a general background in IT, cyber security, and supporting processes
- Experience working with compliance and regulatory frameworks such as PCI-DSS, HIPAA/HITRUST, SOX, GDPR, NIST, etc.
Qualification
- Have 1-2 years of experience in Network Security Engineering
- Have 1-2 years of broad experience with network security technologies such as WAF technologies, network and/or cloud firewalls, Cloud Network Security, etc.
- Have a practical understanding of modern cloud IT infrastructure, networking, and security engineering concepts
- Can troubleshoot network and security issues within a complex environment
- Have 1-2 years of experience in engineering solutions that meet security, compliance, and business needs
- Can commit and deliver on very specific project/delivery timelines with minimal supervision
- Can work in an on-call rotation which may include some night and weekend shifts
- Have excellent customer support skills, both written and verbal
- Have 1-2 years of experience with securing application communication and enabling secure communication through HTTPS
