Kano State Governor Abba Kabiru Yusuf has approved the dismissal of the interim management of the Nigeria Premier Football League team, Kano Pillars.
Shehu Wada Sagagi, the governor’s chief of staff, verified this during a media briefing in Kano.
Sagagi stated that Mustapha Kwankwaso, the state Commissioner for Youth and Sports, did not act in a manner that contradicted the state chief executive’s official viewpoint.
He indicated that the government had begun the reorganisation process, which would leave the Kano Pillars in a position to compete favourably with its football contemporaries.
He said:
“The commissioner for sports is the one supervising Kano Pillars, they have to be subordinate to him, what is always expected from him is to exercise due diligence at all times.
“The commissioner did not act without the approval of the governor, he has made his submissions to the governor and he is waiting for approval.”
Recall that the Kano Pillars management board led by Alhaji Babangida Umar Little was dismissed last week.
