Kanye West, also known as Ye, has publicly apologised to the Jewish community following a series of antisemitic comments he made in late 2023.

In a statement written in Hebrew and shared on his social media, West expressed deep regret for any offence his words may have caused.

He said it was never his intention to hurt or demean anyone and acknowledged the pain his remarks brought to many.

Kanye West committed to learning from this experience and vowed to develop greater sensitivity and understanding moving forward. He emphasised the importance of starting with himself in this process of growth and change.

The apology came after West faced widespread backlash for his antisemitic statements. These remarks led to the loss of partnerships with major brands such as Adidas and Balenciaga and resulted in his suspension from several social media platforms.

The Anti-Defamation League welcomed Kanye West’s apology but noted that it was only a first step, stressing the need for ongoing efforts to fight hate and promote tolerance.
