It is an emotional period for Nigerian influencer and actress Kiekie as she deals with the loss of her beloved sister, Adepero Agbaje. The tragic news was shared in a deeply heartfelt post on her Instagram, where she described June 6, 2025, as the worst day of her life.
Kiekie recounted receiving the devastating news from Adepero’s husband late that night, an experience she described as a heartbreaking moment that tore her world apart. “All I wanted to do was hear your sweet voice,” Kiekie wrote, as she expressed her shock and sorrow over her sister’s sudden passing.
In her tribute, Kiekie reflected on the bond she shared with Adepero, revealing that she had been made godmother to her sister’s first child. This gesture, she noted, has now taken on a profound meaning as she assumes a motherly role for her nephew. “Your laughter and warmth will forever live in my heart,” she wrote.
Adepero’s passing has not only shaken her family but also touched others in the Nigerian entertainment industry. Nollywood actress Biola Bayo joined in mourning, sharing her condolences and prayers for Adepero’s loved ones. She asked God to provide strength to the family, particularly Adepero’s husband, children, and mother.
Adepero Agbaje’s death at just 32 adds to a series of losses in the Nigerian entertainment world this year. In May, plus-sized model Monalisa Stephen passed away due to health complications, and earlier in the year, Nollywood veterans Nkechi Nweje and Columbus Irisoanga also departed.
