Reality star, Kim Kardashian has recently expressed regret over a major parenting decision involving her eldest daughter, North, while seemingly acknowledging that her ex-husband Kanye West may have been right in expressing concerns.
During an interview with Time, Kim discussed the challenges of raising a pre-teen who is active on social media and shared an incident where North sang explicit lyrics from an Ice Spice song in a TikTok video.
Kim admitted that upon discovering the lyrics, she swiftly removed the video, acknowledging the criticism she received and the online sentiment that Kanye’s concerns were justified. The couple, who share North and three, other children, have had differing opinions on their daughter’s presence on social media. With Kanye voicing disapproval.
Despite this, Kim emphasized the importance of North’s creativity and defended her access to TikTok. Clarifying that it is primarily through Kim’s phone and their joint account. She highlighted North’s passion for making slime videos and hair tutorials, asserting her support for her daughter’s creative pursuits.
However, Kim acknowledged that she had made an error in judgement by allowing North to post the controversial video. She deleted several clips following fan backlash while keeping one of North’s duets with Ice Spice. Kanye had previously criticized Kim for allowing North to be on the app without his consent. And their shared TikTok account was briefly deactivated, leading to speculation that it was in response to his objections.
